Montessori Discovery School is a small, nurturing community whose focus is on early childhood. Our program is based on the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Her method recognizes that young children have a natural ability to absorb knowledge through direct contact with their environment. The carefully prepared environment meets the needs of each child. Self-directed learning is encouraged, and the child is free to work at his or her own level of challenge. Along the way the child steadily gains confidence and discovers a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
